Dog Tent

“Do the dogs sleep in it?” is the most frequently asked question when friends see the dog tent. Although they could sleep in it, they wouldn’t be very happy, preferring to sleep in our tent.

I bought the dog tent (Dog Haus from ABO Gear from Amazon ). I added a light pad http://www.wag.com/dog/p/chuck-it-travel-bed-101798 to keep the dogs more comfortable during the cool evenings and light drizzles when we go camping. Chipper and Buffy claimed the tent during its first use at Pharoh Campground ) near the Garden of the Gods (http://www.theshawneenationalforest.com/home/shawnee-national-forest-trails/garden-of-the-gods) in the Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois. Rarely did all three go inside at the same time, since Cassie and Buffy have dominance issues.

Camping with three dogs has provided some challenges, but two exercise pens hooked together has kept them, and us, fairly happy, much better than having all three of them on leashes, tangling us up. We save the tangling for dog walks. Chipper and Buffy are masters at tangling themselves and us up with their 15-foot retractable leashes.
