Happy Dog Thanksgiving!

Dog Thanksgiving, a day devoted to cooking (and eating) where the house smells like turkey roasting in the oven. My husband came up with this idea many years ago. If we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving at home, then the following weekend we have Dog Thanksgiving, where he makes a turkey with the trimmings for us and the dogs.

“It’s their favorite holiday, we have to celebrate Dog Thanksgiving,” my husband says.

If you google search Dog Thanksgiving, you’ll get a lot of lists on what not to feed your dog for Thanksgiving, or special dog recipes, but I’m going to tell you how we celebrate the holiday.

First, Buffy gets to inspect the turkey.

Then after hours of cooking and my husband and me having our fair share, then Buffy gets a taste of turkey, potatoes, and stuffing. This year we didn’t have many veggies since it was just me and my husband and I don’t like most vegetables.

I always keep probiotics handy in case something does not agree with her system – it works every time.
